how come when u use the tremolio on my mexican strat the strings always come out of tune?? it never used to do this but i just changed my strings and went up in string gauge on sunday....are my strings just not stretched out enough yet??

It has been our experience that the factory Fender tremolos are great for subtle effects but you should avoid divebombs and that kind of thing.
Regarding locking trems, we've looked at that problem pretty extensively and found that if the tuners and nut are adjusted correctly then a locking nut is really not necessary. We now use a set of locking tuners and a graphite nut which is MUCH better and MUCH easier than a locking system.
When you get the ambition to do so, loosen the strings a bit, slide them out of the nut, then take a pencil and "color" in the slots. This will provide a little lubrication and will help your problem.
You may also want to readjust the tremolo springs in the back... tighten the "claw" screws about 1 turn each.
