At the age of 18 on my birthday I went to a local airport to learn how to skydive. I was supposed to have my uncle and best friend there to do it with me but they got "sick" at the last minute.
I went thru the 4 hour class and took my first flight in a small plane off a grassy runway. Did I mention my severe Fear of heights? When they opened that door and my hand was securely attached to the seat bracket the pilot was sitting on, I started wondering if I could really do it. I saw a semi truck that looked pretty small. All I had to do was put my feet on the step over the wheel, grab and hold on to the wing support where it attaches to the wing, let my feet fall off the step and hang until I was given the thumbs up to let go. What a RUSH that is to let go and take that deathly choice. I jumped 10 times before my pocket book stopped me in my tracks. Now I have a wife and 2 kids stepping in my way..........
