Many people think that because Silvertone is old that it must be good.
Admittedly, some professionals play vintage Silvertones for a song or 2 but they really aren't too valuable and they play badly for the most part.
Silvertone, Harmony, Kay, Teisco, and other "mail order" guitars of that era are now affectionately called "junky guitars" not necessarily because they are junk, but because there were so many made for so many different retailers that they can be found in practically every attic of every house owned by a person over 60.
Guitars such as yours rarely bring more than $200 in mint condition, and are common enough to find in the under $50 range.
