I don't like music. I never did like it and I want to learn to like it How does a person learn to appreciate?

music? I raised two childen who loved music. I made sure they had lots of opportunities to listen to all kinds of music. They think I am "weird" for not enjoying music. I'v tried, but I just don't like it. I never play music on the radio in the car or at home. Any suggestions.. Please be positive with me. I'v heard enough negative comments from my children.

Oh, I forgot to mention that I was tested and scored 3 A's and 1B (tone, pitch, etc.) The testers said "You must really enjoy music with a rating like that and were surprised that I didn't.

It sounds like you're trying to be open. I'd suggest, you try something mainstream and contemporary. For good lyrics and generally a positive message, I'd suggest getting a Celine Dion album. I'm even willing to make you a few CD's with compilations of easy going artists (where you can hear the lyrics because of clear voices). I'll do it for free because I LOVE music. I have about 7000 songs on my computer, with a wide range. You should also try to listen to instrumentals only, to see if ANY music can affect your mood. Let me know, and I'll be glad to make you some CD's and send them to you - not a problem!!
