if you want to start easiest and start improving your finger coordination, the game Guitar Hero is pretty handy. It teaches you to use finger muscles you might otherwise not.
Pick up a guitar and start doing this excerice: start at the bottom string on the lowest fret and do 1,2,3,4,4,3,2,1. Repeat for each string on each fret until you get to the top. This will help build finger muscle as well.
Once you got these things down, i would take a couple lessons and also surf online for tab websites for some of your favorite songs. Many are very easy to play, and only require memorizing four chords.
