Finger Movement on the Piano...........?!

Finger Movement on the Piano...........?

(1) When you move fingers while, say, changing chords, would you slide them on the piano, or lift them off the piano completely? Please explain if possible.

(2) When you play a particular key with a finger, are the other fingers in the air or are they touching the piano lightly? Again, please give reasons if possible.

1. Styles vary, but usually you lift the fingers off the keys just high enough to allow free movement.
2. All the fingers should be touching the keyboard. You get a better sense of where you are that way.
