This is fairly normal behavior among animals, mostly mammals. Don't worry about, and the behavior should lessen as the dog matures.
Animals do this out of instinct and the purpose is to consume nutrients. The immature digestive tracts don't always absorb what the animal needs, so they eat their feces. It is essentially a second pass or recycling of food. Some animals will do this for a lifetime, but those animals have a lower digestive/absorption capacity. Dogs grow past this as they mature.
