Can someone help decide on which bass guitar I should buy. Epiphone T-bird lV or Fender Standard Jazz Bass?
The Epiphone costs $300 and the fender costs $450

I would spend the extra and go with the Fender. Fender is a quality name. Epiphone are cheap in my opinion. Fender all the way.
