What has happened to musicians' integrity?!

What has happened to musicians' integrity?

I understand that they bank off of their skills, however, at the same time, I know that just because someone might be fond of a particular artist's talents, it doesn't mean they have the cash to drop on it. My husband and I DO buy cd's, dvd's..what have you..but we can't buy everything we want...we have bills to pay..why is there not some place where you can go and hear what you want, when you want without someone implying that all we might be interested is downloading their latest "crap"...I love my computer and I don't make it a habit to download everything that catches my eye..I'm smarter than that. It doesn't matter if it's yahoo or myspace....the choices are all made for you and it really stinks. I have my moods, I work around them. My time in front of the screen in the blue room is mine...and it's limited..why can I not go to an "official" website and hear what I want?

I guess cos its their living. They like everyone have a right to be paid for their work. If you go to see a lawyer and need help, you cant afterwards say you are not paying for their work cos you cant pay but want to have their skills.
The internet is changing the way musicians own their music as people can and do access it for free. I suppose I would be pretty upset if it was me ...wouldnt you?
