I got this guitar and the string s feel funny?

because theyt are harder to push down than my old guitar and they are higher off the guitar.Will it get lower after use or do u need different strings i belive that both strings on the guitar are matealic

It sounds like you got a cheap guitar.
I doubt the bridge can be adjusted enough to matter.
You get what you pay for in instruments.

Go to a music store and feel a Fender acoustic.
You will see the difference in quality by the neck action (the problem you have) and the tone sound of the box.
