I definitely think that The Monkees should be in the Rock and Roll HoF! If people like; Dion, The Impressions, Bobby "Blue" Bland, The Yardbirds, Duane Eddy, Lloyd Price, Gene Vincent, Del Shannon, The Staple Singers, The Moonglows and The Flamingos can get in, then YES, The Monkees deserve to be in the Hall of Fame. There are other bands out there that deserve to get in before The Monkees, but they should get in sooner than later. Most people only know the very basic songs like 'Last Train to Clarksville' and 'Daydream Believer' but if you buy their greatest hits, you'll find that you can listen to it from start to finish. Not to mention the show won two Emmy's in 1967. Let 'em in!!!
PS: You haven't lived yet if you haven't kareokeed 'Goin Down' drunk at a party! (If you don't know it, look it up, listen to the lyrics, let your mind drift into the gutter, and consider the song based on the literal title, 'Goin Down' and you'll get the sexual conotations!
