Question about a '97 fender strat American made? got it at a pawnshop for $650 w!

Question about a '97 fender strat American made? got it at a pawnshop for $650 was it a good deal?

ok well i want to learn how to play gutair ive play bass for sometime and i thought "bass is kool but i want to play some ac/dc, greenday,metallica,etc.." well me and my mom go to a couple pawn shops checked out some ibanez and some esps but nothing special then i c a 1997 american made strat tried it liked it alot then we go to a couple more. then we go to the local music store (to pricy) so i go back tp the pawnshop and get the strat for $650 came with a hard shell case but some one took out the 1st single coil and put seymore duncans in it. The strats condition is GREAT no problems with it just needs some cleaning on the neck becuase you could tell some one play this ALOT but it just needed a littile bit of cleaning i didnt have to replace anything in fact it looks brand spankin new. and it did come with th whammy bar and the back plate. so? can anyone tell me if i got a good deal?

Duncans are good pickups, and it was put in there to give the guitar a fatter sound. American Strats tend to be pricey. I'd be happy to get one that's been customized for $650, but I wouldn't call it a great deal, just a good one.
