Question:

Anyone know the name of the British/English comedy show that Doordarshan used to show in the late 80s/90s?

If you grew up in India in the 80s and early to mid 90s you would know...

In Doordarshan, every Friday, saturday and Sunday night they would play an British comedy show...it was more or like a variety show but like a different set of really hilllarious scenes were performed every week

Its kinda like MAD TV or Saturday Night LIve here in the US

umm "biiiiim buuurger"....does that ring a bell? lol

Additional Details

there was this guy..like 40/50 years old...he always runs around in the ending credits and getting chased and stuff.

Its like he's in a green room if you know what i mean...where he's just in one place but the scenery/scenes behind him keep changing from like the London Bridge to the Himalayas to like the middle of a railroad track

He slips and falls and gets back up from running into a wall and stuff

and Oh he wears a hat too at the end and then takes it off and takes a bow!

Answers:

Sounds like Vic Reeves Big Night Out

This was a cult British comedy stage show and later TV series which ran on Channel 4 for two series in 1990 and 1991.

Vic Reeves Big Night Out was a parody of the variety shows which dominated the early years of television, but which were, by the early 1990s, falling from grace. Vic, introduced as "Britain's Top Light Entertainer and Singer", would sit behind a cluttered desk talking nonsense and introducing the various segments and surreal guests on the show.
