all i have is a computer a microphone and a lot of instrumentals. i want to have professional sounding music

With all forms of recording, you get what you pay for. There are only a few programs that run in the lower price range for multitracking. Check out Adobe Audition or Cakewalk. If you're willing to spend more money, the Protools MBox is great. Just keep in mind that all recording equipment is expensive and to have music sound like the professional music you hear on the radio takes expensive gear (most studios have millions of dollars in equipment - say $10,000 just for the interface to your computer) and engineers with years of training and experience in the physics of sound. In that reguard, my 1st suggestion is seek out books on home recording. Knowing how to place a mic can make a major difference in how pro you can get your recording to sound.
