Harry Potter- What was the creature in King's Cross?!

Question:

Harry Potter- What was the creature in King's Cross?

In Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Dumbledore and Harry encounters a "small, naked child, its skin raw and rough, flayed looking".

What exactly was that creature?
And why did Dumbledore say its "Something that is beyond either of our help"?

Answers:

not a creature but a newborn baby.it is voldermort's soul as he is also unconcious but in the <dream> with harry and dumbledore...he exist as the newborn baby...
what dumbledore means is that there is nothing that can help voldermort...his soul will suffer as he is close to death...
