Most powerful superhero ever?!

Question: Most powerful superhero ever!?
as in marvel comics or dc comicsWww@Enter-QA@Com

Answers:
In Marvel comics, there are two choices:

#1 Beta Ray Bill!. Only hero to ever knock Thor's logo off the cover of his own book!

http://en!.wikipedia!.org/wiki/Beta_Ray_Bi!.!.!.

He beat Thor twice!. And as a reward, Odin forged him another hammer, equal to Mjolnir! So now he gets the power of Thor in addition to his own!?!?!? The writers don't realize what a monster they created!.

#2 Jean Grey as the Phoenix!. So powerful that alien star empires allied to stop her from destroying the entire universe!. The Dark Phoenix was a supervillain, but for a short time Jean had those same powers as Phoenix (green costume)

I agree with the guys who mentioned Sentry- he could substitute for Jean Grey!.

In DC comics:

Hal Jordan, the greatest of all Green Lanterns!. That's why Batman hates him, he's just too powerful!. As Parallax he knocked out Superman in one shot (ok, he was a villain at the time, but that incident illustrates he could if he wanted to)Www@Enter-QA@Com

That's a tough one!. Obviously it will be a DC universe character, since Marvel goes for more plausible/limited abilities with more rational origins, i!.e!. mutants only have one power (Colossus, Iceman, Cyclops, Storm, Magneto etc), Spiderman is super-agile and strong relative to his size but can't lift more than a few tons and isn't bulletproof- same with Mr!. Fantastic, the Human Torch, Captain America, Dr Strange etc!.

Both universes have ultra-powerful beings like the Spectre, The Living Tribunal, The Beyonder etc but those aren't heroes!.

The problem is superhero power levels changed drastically over the years!. Back in the 70's you had Superman and the Flash both moving fast enough to time travel, etc!. Element Lad was able to change the atmosphere on entire planets!

After the Crisis on Infinite Earths, DC's characters all had their origins and abilities rewritten so the old stuff never happened and doesn't count!. But even in the post-crisis universe, DC has the heaviest hitters!.

Superman!? At first glance he's got so many abilities he appears to be the most powerful, but he isn't!. He is the most versatile- nobody else can do as many things as Superman, but there are always people who match or exceed him for each specific area!. And he's got huge weaknesses in Kryptonite and magic (in a universe with plenty of magical threats)

Superman is smart, Batman is smarter!. He's super fast, but the Flash is faster!. Good ol' Kal-El is super strong, but Mon-El/Lar Gand is stronger!.

I think the most powerful was Captain Marvel!. He had powers of the gods and no weaknesses except his youthful, trusting nature and tendency to assume the best about people!. I think that's why Alex Ross chose him to play such a pivotal role in the classic "Kingdom Come" and more recent "Justice" limited series!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

In DC it would have to be without a doubt Superman!. The guy can see peoples DNA for cryin out loud!. He can see past micro all the way down to nano!. He can see a piece of dust on the planet Neptune!. He's extremely powerfull!. He has the speed of the Silver Surfer which basically means he can travel the speed of light and even faster!. They both can travel through time!. Strong like the Hulk!. Superman beat him during the DC vs!. Marvel series!. In Marvel it would have to be Thor Odinson!. He's basically Superman but with a hammer and I think cooler clothes (especially his suit in the new avengers)!. He can fly super fast, travel through time, strong, and can fight really well!. He possesses the Odinforce which allows him to tap into the near infinite powers of the cosmic and mystical which can enhance all of his abilities!. The dude dented Cap America's shield!. If Superman and Thor fought I don't know who would win!. I just know that the universe wouldn't survive!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Hero, not villian!?

DC Universe- probably the Green Lantern- no limit to his power except his own will, plus they removed the yellow vulnerability!.

Superman is the popular choice, but big blue still has kryptonite and magic weaknesses!. And besides, he's a toss-up with big red!.!.!.!. Captain Marvel (Shazam!)Www@Enter-QA@Com

Not including cosmic beings/higher being such as the spectre, my choice for DC would be Amazo who became a hero in JLU (Green Latern once had a problem where his will power surpassed the capabilities of the ring so it not a limitless power)!. In marvel, its hulk or the sentry!.

I wonder if Wolverine could jsut cut Superman into tiny chunks!?Www@Enter-QA@Com

Silver Age Superman is crazy in DC!.

He's the one who was invincible and could go back in time by flying around the earth backwards and other such things!.

I think Marvel had some kind of Kirby God-Like being or something!. Otherwise I think Eternity was pretty powerful!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Wolverine!.

I mean, say superman wasn't around Kryptonite, bullets would bounce off him right!? Well that's great, but kinda cheap!.

Wolverine would take every single bullet and still live!. Superman is a pansy compared to that!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
