First of all: Expect crowds!. This is the most important thing of all!. There will be more than 40,000 people bumping shoulders with you and not everyone is nice!. Some will be friendly but there are others who do not know how to keep their hands to themselves (if you're a cosplayer or seem interesting to them)!. Learn to say no, learn to excuse yourself from an uncomfortable situation and know your limits!. If you're going to walk around without water, bad idea!. You need to keep yourself hydrated during the con or you'll pass out!.

And there's various things to do at the con!. There's a GaiaOnline panel (I don't know if you go on Gaia), panels to meet various Voice Actors ranging from American to Japanese, karaoke, 24 hour gaming (I think), video showings, how-to sessions, cultural sessions, silly panels (Whose line is it Anime!?, Blind dating (Yaoi, yuri or hetero!. I've only seen yaoi though), anime chess (I don't know if they do it at AXPO) and ect!.) and especially Masquerade where many, many people gather!. Pleasssseeee! Get there EARLY!. Hours early in the line or you'll be sitting in the back and of course, near the front (not necessarily front row) is the best!. There are also little games that cosplayers do!. Such as duck duck goose (with a yaoi paddle!. Don't know if they'll do it this year!. It can be dangerous because the paddles are viewed as a weapon now) and other things (I've only seen Duck Duck Goose D: )

Here's a list of stuff that'll be useful to know:

1!. Take someone you know with you!. It's always a bad idea to go alone!. Have your parents around you (I don't know how old you are) or always be with a friend!.

2!. Eat!. A lot of people get so excited that they always forget to eat!. Before going to the con, make sandwiches and buy some water at a gas station!. Food and vendors near or around the con will ALWAYS hike up the price for food!. Water back home was only a dollar but when I went to AX '05, it was $2!. It could be $4 now for just one little bottle!. So it's better to bring your own snacks rather than having to pay for overpriced food!.

3!. Always ask!. If you want to take a cosplayers photo, always ask them first and don't snap their picture without them knowing!. Cosplayers have their own sets of rules and you don't know them!. They could have privacy issues, they may not look their best at that moment or they may have something to do at that moment!. also, keep in mind do NOT glomp cosplayers without permission!. It's very fun to do but it can be dangerous!. If the cosplayer says no then don't!. There are reasons as to why they said no!. Their costume could be extremely delicate, they may have issues with people touching them, they may even have a bad experience from a previous glomp!. It's always better to ask!.

4!. I don't spend a lot because I have a very hard time choosing what I want!. I usually bring around $200 with me (and spend it wisely) but for someone else, it could be $500 that they bring to a con!. If you like a lot of things and want a lot of things, prepare to bring a lot of money (and visit Artist Alley)!.

5!. Bathe!. You don't know how many people forget to shower at a con and when you're stuck in an elevator with them, it's not pleasant!.

6!. Don't rape other languages!. Yes, you're at a con but not everyone likes it when people replace the words 'cute' with 'kawaii' or 'idiot' with 'baka'!. To some people, it makes you seem like a mindless fangirl and may annoy people around you!. Just keep to the English language!. You don't have to impress anyone!.

7!. Get your tickets early!. Last year, apparently, the line to get into the con wrapped around a very large building and people waited possibly more than four hours to get in!. I waited three hours myself during '05 and I had gotten my tickets early!. If you get your tickets early, you don't have to sit through the line (I think there's another line for them)!. The extremely long line is for those who haven't gotten their tickets yet!. If you don't get your tickets early, you will cry at the sight of the line!. Really!.

8!. Remember your securities!. Cons are fun because you get to meet people who have the same interest as you but it's not all that great when you meet them instantly and trade home addresses if you've only talked to them for five minutes!. People you meet at the con briefly aren't going to be your BFF unless you sit and talk with them (possibly for the whole con to get to know them)!. Remember to keep your personal information to yourself!. Think of the con as the internet!. It may be a great place to meet people but there are creepy people out there!. You have to remember to keep yourself safe at all times!.

Aside from those, a con is really a great place to see new stuff and meet people from across the country (or world)!. People from London, Japan, China, Brazil, ect!. come to AXPO because it's one of the biggest cons around!. I hope you have fun!. :)Www@Enter-QA@Com
