Question: What is the most depressing anime movie you have ever seen!?
Please, don't give me any suggestions like Naruto or Bleach!.
I really dislike those shows, so please give me some anime movies that you think are really good but sad!.
I just got done watching Clannad, if you want an indication of what I'm looking for!.

Grave of the Fireflies

Chrono Crusade (the ending made me cry for a week)
Kanon
Air
Black Cat (i cried during some parts)
Fruits Basket (it's very good for tearing up, and i've watched it a million times)

Seriously, I don't know how you top "Grave of the Fireflies" for sheer melancholy!. The saddest anime movies I know would be the Rurouni Kenshin Movies/OVAs (the last one is the saddest)!. There's Yoshiyuki Tomino's classis Space Runaway Ideon: Be Invoked, sad sad ending!.
I recommend that you try "Now And Then Here And There", its not really a movie but a 13 episode anime!. I assure you it will leave you depressed (even better - watch it while thinking its a shonen hero anime)!. Why depress yourself for a only couple of hours when you can do it for half a day (or more)!? Www@Enter-QA@Com

Nothing beats Grave of the Fireflies, i felt as if my heart was being torn apart at every scene, how they survived, when thinking about those situations is bringing a tear, that was way too painful to watch!.
Watch Full Metal Alchemist - It's only 50 episodes but worth it and i am sure it will bring a tear or two!. It's very sad and rated the best anime series!. If you want to watch movies then there's the girl who leap through time, Kenshin OVA and Saikano!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

What's wrong with naruto!? I hate how the marketing fat cats try to apeal the anime to little toddlers!. The show has some really deep underlying themes!. The visual representations along with the amazingly talented scores make the show much more than a cartoon about ninjas!. That show really changed my perspective on many things!. The creators really depict human suffrage with great insight!. I say try to get past the anime feel for it, just keep watching and I promise you'll fall in love!. Www@Enter-QA@Com
