Yes, the creator Sunao Yoshida has passed away in 2004 (Trinity blood was originally a series of books, not a manga) BUT his friend Kentaro Yasui completed the books for him after his death!.
Only the manga is based off of these books and is not finished yet!. It is being drawn by Kiyo Kujo!.
Perhaps when Kiyo gets further in the manga, the anime will be given another season!. The anime creators need images to go off of, otherwise, the manga and the anime won't match up well, especially now that the original writer is dead!.

Im sorry there is not going to be a season 2 to trinity blood!. I heard from somewhere that the creator of trinity blood passed away and that's why the ending is such a cliffhanger!. And also the show ended years ago!.!.!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
