Adult cartoons...How far is too far?!
Question: Adult cartoons!.!.!.How far is too far!?
Well, i am a fan of Adult Swim programs, for those of you who are unfamiliar, Adult Swim comes on late at night on the cartoon network and shows mature cartoons, like Family Guy, Oblongs, Metalocalypse, Etc!.!.!.
I, personally, don't think I'm a prude or lack a sense of humor, nor do i think I'm uptight!. I enjoy these cartoons, but one show in particular Family Guy, I have a bittersweet opinion of!. For example, I can't find the humor in "Prom night dumpster babies", leaving babies in hot cars, or rape, incest, or dead movie stars coming back to life in the condition they died in (For example, the Griffin family was at a 50's diner and they had waiters dressed up as 50's movie stars and James Dean was one of them and it depicted him with shards of glass impaling him and his neck broken!. I mean, what if it was my family member who passed away and a cartoon show made fun of them and depicted them in the condition they were in before they died (ie: on a ventilator, wheelchair etc!.!.)
I agree that it is best to laugh at your misfortune than cry about it!. But it seems that the creator of Family Guy has never had anything bad happen to him!. Maybe I'm looking too deep into it, I just want to know how others feel about it!. You're probably laughing while reading this and as well you should!. But sometimes the show strikes a hard blow when a topic of humor hits too close to home for me!. What are your opinions on this or other shows!?

I must say, I don't like a lot of the obscene language and overtly sexual stuff!. (If I'm looking for an action-adventure show, those are mostly violent by definition, so I'm not unfairly excluding violence!.)
But as soon as I object to obscenity or lewdness, some wiseguy usually just has to jump up and use obscene language to describe what lewd things he'd like to do to me if he could ever find out who I am and where to catch me!.
It's too bad that the producers don't think of making great programs with people heroically overcoming the harassment by lewd and obscene pests who are trying to marginalize them by humiliating them!.
Since we don't have dictatorial powers (and whiney losers would feel sorry for themseves as though they were oppressed and had their rights taken away if we tried to protect them from themselves) all I can say is, people who want to pollute themselves with that stuff will do so, and people who don't won't!. People who would scream out loud about secondhand smoke think nothing of bombarding everybody with their secondhand smut and tell those who object to go away!.
But as for you, Live in such a way that everybody can see the benefits of keeping yourself free of that! You'll be glad you did!.

u make a good point they can take it 2 far like with there religious jokes some things u just don't do 4 jokes or other wise and that's nt all somethings should just nt b done but faults and all i love the show and my dad owns the 1st 5 seasons and the stewie movie!. which is!.!.!.!.!.!.well hard 4 me word right nw!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
The Simsons is without question one of the best written shows on television!. Very brave and willing to take risks!. Shows like family guy and L'il Bush aren't nearly as deep!.
I like cartoons to have adult material, because in that format it is possible to make statements, political and social, that slip right past the censors!. I guess the censors see the little cartoon guys and stop paying attention!.

That sounds like life, though!. If you stop laughing, you're gonna cry!. I watch it a lot, I'm rather ashamed to admit (maybe because I'm in my late 30's and a mom of 4) and I do think they go way over the line sometimes!. There are times when I go that was just wrong! But it's usually also with a half smile on my face!. These are horrible things that are depicted and I don't know that the writers are necessarily trying to make light of horrible situations!. Maybe it's just their way of sorting terrible things out in a scary world!. Kind of like whistling in a graveyard!. Apparently lots of people agree!. What they do is bad, but no worse than what the tabloids or even the "respectable" news media do to the same issues mocked on Family Guy!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
Depends!. I'm fine with language, sexual content, etc!. as long as it doesn't get gratituous!. The problem with many animated shows out today is that they do things for shock value and have no real point!.
I'm not much of a family guy fan either, not since I've seen the uncanny simarities (and I use the term loosely) between Stewie and a character named Jimmy Corrigan drawn by cartoonist Chris Ware that predates Family guy by at least 5-6 years!.
When it comes to questionable content, I'm fine with shows like South Park and the older seasons of the Simpsons, since they're actually satircal and orignal!. They can be crude sometimes, but they do it to make a point, not just to get cheap laughs!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
