in the manga pein has kakashi trapped and he says he can't dodge then bam! pein throws a nail but you can't tel wether he's hit

I think he will probably live because what's under his mask has not been revealed yet!. It would really depress me if kakashi dies without explaining what's underneath his mask!. also, what about Kakashi's remaining teammate Rin, the one who is the 3rd member of the Obito & Kakashi trio!? I think she is Kakashi's love interest!. hmm!.!. maybe they will do a side story!.!. anyway!.!. I hope they don't kill him yet because I am still mourning for the death of Asuma in the Anime and Jiraiya from the manga!. Why don't they kill Chouji or Shino or Tenten or even Rock Lee or Sasuke!.!. or even all of them!.!. that would be better for me!. i think its quite possible he's dead, the writer already killed off asuma and a lot of other popular characters!. also, i heard (not exactly sure about this) naruto is supposed to end at around 500 chapters!. were already getting very close to that!.
on the contrary, getting hit in the face by a nail after a battle that spanned an epic 3 chapters is a pretty pathetic way to "die!." i dont think the writer would do that to a character whos been on the top favorites since the beginning of the series!. also, its not like he hasnt done this before with itachi/sasuke!. that battle was so annoying how they kept "dying" and coming back to life!.

A Hero falls doesnt nessisarally mean that he or anyone dies it could just mean there criticaly injured, or more than likley someone will jump infront of the nail and take the blow of kakashi, Even if he does die all its going to do is make naruto fight beyond what he's usualy capable of and kill pain!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I think he will not die because it's almost impossible to kill someone with a nail =S Maybe Pain wanted to hit Kakashis eye instead of trying to kill him!?
