Why is japanese anime more violent than english anime?!

Question: Why is japanese anime more violent than english anime!?
Answers:
There are a lot of factors why Japanese anime is generally more violent than English anime/cartoon!. Here are some points:

1!. Looking from a cultural perspective, the Japanese may still harbor that warrior/samurai spirit, plus the fact that it can be considered that Japan is a male dominated society so that these reflect in their anime, in forms of violent action scenes, some chauvinistic male expressions etc!., after all anime can be considered as a form of expression!.

2!. Contrary to popular belief, Japans censorship on anime is not that lax!. You can hear news about an anime episode/scene in Japan being censored every now and then, a manga being put to stop because of being overtly violent, but since the anime and manga scene in Japan has a wider age range and target, you could see more action and violence in contrast to English anime/cartoon, which is probably marketed generally for children!. In short, cartoons are thought of mainly as 'for kids" stuff in America, although in recent years this has been changing, but for now it is generally marketed for the younger audience so that there is less violence (to please and appease parents)!.

3!. Its part of Japanese anime identity!. A non-anime fan would say that anime is a cartoon with violence, sex, and nudity, and that is partly true!. Through the years anime has built an identity to distinguish itself from other forms of media and being violent is one of that!. May it be good or bad for anime is a relative question, but most anime fans would just consider it as normal, considering that there are still a lot of dimensions to anime aside from its more violent nature!.

For one thing, Japanese anime isn't just aimed at young kids!. In the US there's been a strong misconception in place for the past 50-60 years that comics and cartoons are only for children, and therefore aren't supposed to have any questionable or violent content in them!. This has only recently begun to be challenged, starting with shows like The Simpsons, and of course, the growing popularity of anime in the US!. However, there's still quite a long ways to go towards getting rid of this misconception once and for all!.

In Japan, comics, and later cartoons (anime) based on those comics, were created for all different audiences and this continues today!. This isn't to say that all anime is considered acceptable for all audiences - quite the opposite!. In Japan, various anime programs will air during age-appropriate times!. You would have Dragonball on during family time, or after school was out!. However other shows might air later in the day or even late at night, because that's when those audiences would be watching TV!.

That said, the Japanese don't necessarily protect their children from the results of violent acts!. If people fight, they get hurt, maybe even die!. Again, I point to Dragonball, where characters are clearly injured and even killed - and this was a show considered OK for young kids aged 6 and up!. For some reason, Americans feel that violence is OK - but not the injury or death aspect of it!. This was most obviously exemplified in the old G!.I!. Joe cartoons from the 80s!. Despite having 2 armies fighting each other, and battles where the screen was filled with laser blasts from both sides, no one was ever shot - even when attacking from point-blank range!. If a vehicle was destroyed, you'd always see the driver or pilot bail out just seconds before it exploded!. No one ever got hurt, even after taking a kick to the head!.

One misguided parent group even publicly praised GI Joe, saying kids were too young to be exposed to the realities of death!. Shortly after that statement had been published, the news covered a tragic story of a 5 year old boy who had found his father's hand gun, and in his words, was "playing GI Joe" when the gun went off, killing the boy's infant brother who was lying asleep on the couch at the time!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

The japanese system is completely different from our U!.S!. rating system!.

The u!.s!. is sort of like the old nanny compared to any euro countries and even Japan!. Many in this country believe that violence in animated stuff convinces young people that it is alright and that showing off your body is something to be afraid of!. That is just what most people are used to growing up with and thoroughly stand by because they didn't have any problems with that fact!.
One example of this would be Dragon Ball!. There were a few sections where Goku lost his pants!. The part was blurred out or drawn over by editors while the original would have been aired like so in Japan!.

All in all, it is not Japan, it's just us and our ideals in society clashing with theirs expressed by edited anime and manga!.

I could really care less anymore though!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
