I have watched up to episode 27 of the ANIME - I have just finished the episode where L dies!.
I just bought both Death Note films!. Will I be able to watch the FIRST one without spoiling anything I haven't seen yet in the anime!?

I think you won't have any problem with the movie!. Because the movie only refer a couple of scene from the series!. They also change the storyline a little bit and add a new dimension to some of the minor character!.
There's a different ending on the movie!. Sorry, if I spoil this to you, you can read it if you want!. I won't give any details to the spoiler because it's better to know the end result than to find out all the details about it right!?

In the movie L didn't die (yet)!. Actually, Light died before L!. Means, in the movie, L won the battle!. Or should I say, "Justice has prevailed" on the movie version!. I won't tell you any details how he manage to outlived and outsmart Light though!. You'll know how he do it once you watch the second movie, Death Note: The Last Name!.
OK, here's another spoiler,
L die in the 3rd movie!. It's the outcome result from the second movie!. Again, I won't give you any details about how and whats just happen in the second movie that lead to his death!. That's the least I can do, because I just spoiled you with two important things that happen in the movie!.
