My guess is that's why Nagato calls himself a GOD because he can control 6 bodies at the same time and Has the most powerful eye out of all the three(Sharingan, Byakugan and Rin'negan)!.
But all the PAIN body's have their unique abilities and unique weaknesses!.

You are complicating something that is simple, when jirary took on yuhiko, kohan, and nagato as his pupil it was revealed that nagato possesed the rinnegan!. Have you bothered to ask yourself what the ability of the rinengan even is all that has been said about the rinnegan is that it's the most powerful of the eye jutsu's and nothing more!.
But i agree with your guess i too believe that pein is all 6 bodies and that nagato is controling them from a far!. But that's obvious that's how it's been told in the manga!. Www@Enter-QA@Com
