well i like it because it is great art and as an artist i appreciate anyone who can draw!. i also like the humor and the characters!. it is really funny and can pull at your emotions!. i dont watch it a lot but when i start watching a series i cant stop until i watch all of it!. they are addicting and you get attached to japanese culture and the characters/story lines!.

I think that a lot of anime have intense story lines that you just can't get from American cartoons!. Most cartoons in America are just comedies with episodes that don't relate to each other!. The ones with actual plots (like Avatar) are inspired by anime!.
You can't really get a nice story from American shows!.

Alot of anime out there is so weird and crazy I have no clue how Americans can watch it!. Japanese are a different culture so they probably think the same thing about American animation!.
I like some anime's because of their closeness to reality!. The drawings are more realistic, characters behave more naturally, and they usually carry continuity!. ex: If a character gets a black eye in an episode, he should still have a black eye in the next episode!.!.!.stuff like that!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Some anime is very good, because unlike American television, which sets up a premise and characters and then continues it until it doesn't make enough money or the producers/actors get tired of it, anime usually tells a single story that wraps up in about 1 season (26 episodes)!. This gives more time for character and plot development than 2-hour films, but it doesn't stretch on pointlessly like American television!. Anime often tackles heavier themes than American animation, as well!. Most of its characters are archetypes, but a lot of people really connect with them, especially since they invest so much time in watching the series!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
Think of an animated soap opera, with plenty of meaningless action and a sprinkling of supernatural character and events!. Some anime is more accessible to Westerners than others, and some anime(apparently not many) is aimed at adults, but not nearly as many as the Anime Army would have us believe!. Does that help!?

Because real Anime!.!.!.not the stupid kiddie crap we get here!.!.!.!.is made for adults!. I love Anime films and hate most of the kiddie shows played in the USA!. Like Pokemon!.!.!.!.what the hell was that crap!!?
Now films like Akira, Blood: The Last Vampire, Ghost in the Shell and shows like Gatchaman and even Salior Moon (Japanese version!.!.!.not cut up for the kiddies version) are extremely well done, exciting, visually stunning and just plain enjoyable!. There is not a lot of smart animation out there!.!.!.most are made for kids with some adult humor thrown in!.!.!.and Anime can very much be strictly for adults!.

The plots are really adventurous/detailed and it really keeps your interest!. I watch dubbed mostly because I hate having to read subtitles, so If you dont like the subbed version, then try dubbed before saying you don't like anime!.

That's a rather ridiculous question!. Why do people like cars or movies or computers or shrimp or whatever!. Its all a matter of personal preference!. You either enjoy something or you don't and thats that!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
Anime is no different than normal TV shows!. They have ones that are designed for all ages and interests!. Some are kiddy, but some have deep plots and focus of character development!. Www@Enter-QA@Com
People like anime because it has good storylines plus the characters!. You get to know the characters, their personality, background etc!. also, most anime had good background music!. I love Japanese music!. Www@Enter-QA@Com
