Gotham Knights - get only the issues 1-32 written by Devin Grayson!.
I would recommend Legends of the Dark Knight first though!. The book has smaller story arcs (1-5 issues long) written by different writers and are focused on the early years of Batman's career!. I have issues 1-70 and there is only one OK issue in the bunch!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I haven't read Batman and the Outsiders!. With Gotham Knights, I'll say this: pay attention to the writer!. If it's Devin Grayson (Issues 1-33), you'll enjoy it!. If it's Beatty!.!.!. you might!. If it's a fill-in writer, again maybe!. The instant you see AJ Lieberman on the cover, run the other way!. He was the last regular writer they had and!.!.!. just!.!.!. well, awful!. Occasionally, there'd be a decent issue or two in the middle of a story arc to make you think that he was finding a direction and then, he'd let it fizzle!. His stories will either make you angry, leave you scratching your head, or bore you to tears!. I'm sorry!. I don't mean to be unduly harsh, here, but based on the hash he made of GK, I'm just boycotting anything he writes!. I can never get those wasted minutes back!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
