They probably cut it off because it got too violent or something!. They were always changing the speech slightly to make it more appropriate for kids!. There's also a new naruto series (Naruto shippuuden) which has more violence in it, so that may be the other reason!.

A lot of anime gets cut from American TV for a variety of reasons!. In the case of Naruto, it probably got to the point that the series was too violent or otherwise "not safe for kids" to be edited for American TV without totally butchering it!.
Naruto is not the only series to be cut from Cartoon Network for adult content!. The show Elfen Lied was considered for CN's Adult Swim programming, but it was far too violent for them to censor it without making the series overall too difficult to understand!. naruto was probably cut because of the other naruto show!. i do not know much about this new show but apparantly it is deffinetly not for kids and highly violent anime!.
