Looking for stats: who likes anime/manga? Which ones? And why?!
Question: Looking for stats: who likes anime/manga!? Which ones!? And why!?
So I'm interested in the demography of people who like anime/manga and what kind of basis, if any, is there to the usual stereotypes regarding anime/manga fans!.
So, please write your age, gender, status (married, single, etc!.), favourite anime, favourite manga, with a short explanation as to why you chose this title above everything else, if possible :)
Me: 21, female, single, favourite Anime is Elfen Lied and favourite manga is Neon Genesis Evangelion!. I chose these 2 titles because I like stories that deal with psychological trauma and that are generally slightly mind-bending!. I think these 2 stories really get the viewer thinking and illicit a strong emotion response!.

I originally ran into anime when NBC used to show episodes of Astro Boy, which I caught in 1965!. I then watched Speed Racer in 1968, but i felt it lacked something and turned away
In the mid 70s, I remember another manga (of which the title escapes me) about what appeared to be a battleship in space!. Again, I wasn't impressed and turned away again!.
In the 90s, I tried other animes, like Ghost in the Shell, Akira and Gundam Wing, but found the whole mecha approach tiresome and turned away for a third time!.
I ran into Dragonball Z and was drawn to it, by the endless fights, but turned away a fourth time when the station that aired it would take you up to a certain episode and start over, even though the series had not finished!.
With the arrival of Pokemon, I was struck as to how much it was like Rocky and Bullwinkle, Although I had a great fondness for Jesse and James, and again walked away for number five, as I just could not connect!.
It wasn;t until about two years ago (so I have had this flirtation with anime for 40 years) that I found one that I really connected with and that is "Mahoromatic", to the point where I have even written fanfic for it!.
Despite a kind of love for fan service/ecchi, the poignancy of the series pulled me in (even with the weak second season)!. I have decided to at least avail myself of the vast wealth of manga out there to see what it is all about!.
I have not turned away, but i am getting highly frustrated, as my avenues for seeing shows (like Death Note, Code Geass, Wedding peach, Ninja Nonsense, Love Hina and Jing, the Bandit King) are getting pared away and I may end up with my sixth denialWww@Enter-QA@Com

Me: 28 male single favorite Anime- Cowboy Bebop! Because it has a good amount of action, Spike is pretty badass, and I like the premise!.

Me-female,My favorite anime+manga would be InuYasha!. I love this becuase you can feel the feelings and emotions throughout the series!. Its funny, romantic, damatic its ful of action and lots of violence!. you can relate with the demons even though it takes place in fedal japan!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Me: 14; Female;Single;Favorite anime is Ouran High School Host Club and favorite manga is Pick of the Litter!.
I chose Ouran High School Host Club because it's standard opening episode showed such grace and the rest goes on with romance,comedy and drama!. (It's so cute)!
I chose Pick of the Litter because when a character is introduced and used more on in the storyline, the reader gets to love that character more!. The plot isn't anything out of the ordinary and art style improvisation increases the knowledge readers get knowing that the artist worked hard!.!.!.!.!.!.and the main characters are sexy!.!.!.(I'm sorry,I had to add that)!.!.!.
These stories get you thinking for taking any normal guess wouldn't get you anywhere because the unexpected will literally attack you at any point in time!.(It's not just a one minute time for thinking,it's nowhere near blatant by just watching one episode to guess what will happen next)!. I like how there are so many possibilities that you can make up just trying to find out what will happen in the next episode or chapter;it gets you hyped up and excited to see what truly will happen next!. And then when they see the resolution,they would most likely gawk in surprise even if their final theory was correct or not!.
