No, there is no romance in Hajime no Ippo!. Ippo develops a crush on Kumi, but nothing happens between them!. They meet a few times to show Ippo still has a crush on her, but he is too busy with fighting and she doesn't really accept his feelings!. After Ippo fights her brother and he is in the hospital, they have a moment, but thats about it, and it lasts only a few seconds!.
In the manga, he tells her he likes her, and she starts to like him, but as in the anime, he is far too busy training and fighting, and they both are teased, or somebody gets in their way, so nothing develops!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
