Personally, I'd say Shounen!. Why!?
Because girls read both Shounen AND Shoujo!.!.!.
Guys only read Shounen!.!.!.!. they didn't really like romance kinda stuff!.!.!. guys only into action!.!.!.
Well, there's only a few guys that really into Shoujo (most of them is too ego to admit they read/watch shoujo)
While girls, don't have any problem at all saying they're into Shounen stuff!.!.!.!.
When a girls read Shounen, they always came up with their pairing stuff!.!.!. You can clearly most of the girls here always asking about "which one is your favorite pairing in Naruto/Bleach!?"
My point is, even though the series is Shounen type, girl will always put any sort of romance/relationship in the series!.!.!.
To put it in a simple way;
Shounen = 100% Fanboys + 90% Fangirls
Shoujo = 100%Fangirls + 30% Fanboys

I think its about the same, almost all males and some females love shonen, but almost all females and some males love shoujo!. I would say its equal, to put it in the 90% range, but i cant say for certain!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Both are popular but I think that shoujo is just a little bit more popular than shonen!.
