Question: Anybody have any ideas for manga character with a dark past!?
I'm working on a story & I'm thinking about having my main girl with a dark past (that she doesn't have the courage to tell the man she loves)!. Something that happened to her outside her family with a guy (maybe an ex-fiance)!. I thought of having her being either abused or raped, but those have been used before!. I'm trying to come up with something (non-magical) that hasn't been use before or a lot!.

How about an addiction such as a drug addiction or a sexual addiction!. Those are always dark!. Maybe she was in an institution for some disorder such as bipolar or schizophrenia!. Oh, this is a good one--how about she had an ex fiance and got pregnant with him and then either had an abortion or maybe she had the kid and gave him up for a some kind of shady adoption!. I'd think twice before telling my boyfriend a story like that if I was a girl and had a boyfriend!. Or even crazier still, she got pregnant with an ex of hers after they broke up and then had a miscarriage due to a prescription drug addiction which ultimately ended her addiction and changed her life into the character she is now that you're going to write about!.
