Final Fantasy question....?!
Question: Final Fantasy question!.!.!.!.!?
Okay so this weekend I was watching Advent Children with my friends, and before that I didn't know too much about Final Fantasy so I just popped a question while we were watching!.
"Why do all the males in it look so white and the girls so asian-y!?"
Through my minimum amount of knowledge about the game I do know that that creator is Japanese!.
So!.!.!.!. Any opinions, answers or anything that is serious and not bashing my stupidity would be much appreciated!.

It is my belief (having dedicated untold hours to slaving at such games), that their is a formula that virtually any japanese styled character is made from!.
The male (main character) formula goes something like this:
-Hair-do that takes a minimum of three bottles of hair spray +
-Androgenous face (Unable to determine if the person is boy or girl) +
-Bad-A factor that is acheived by: a sword the length of the guy's body, perfuse cursing, or a prominent scar!. (Compensating for something I suspect) +
-Unusual colored hair and/or eyes (non-black) +
-If the guy has long hair, he must have a long trenchcoat or cape!.
The female formula is simple; must have at least one of the following:
-Big -you know what (look at Tifa)
-Over exhuberant
-Be useless (healer-type) but pretty
-Almost never use guns or swords
I just made up this formula because I obviously lack a social life, but I find it to be pretty accurate!. By the way if you ever do decide to play a final fantasy game play anyone but the tenth!. Being a faithful geek-gamer I officially disown it!. Though I am surprised you did not comment on how Sephiroth looks like a girl, many people I know do!.!.!. Because the game was made by Japanese people for japanese people!. Then they translate it into English and sell it to the US!.
So most characters are made to appeal to a Japanese audience!. And most games, not just Final Fantasy, are like that!. Some crazy blond or red head is always in the mix, the guys are usually have a big sword or gun, the girls have big boobs and there is always a cute animal thrown in for good measure!. Yes, the character designer (Tetsuya Nomura) is Japanese, so maybe he prefered to make the characters look like the people of his own country!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
