Bleach - Action and humor,
Death Note - So wonderfully clever and some very funny bits,
Battle Royale - Gruesome, fast-paced and gripping,
Black Cat - More action, again some humor,
I've heard good things about Fruits Basket, but shojo manga doesn't really appeal to me!.!.!.
