I've watched both versions, just because it was so good and yet so sad!. I would rate them probably the same on how the voices were, maybe a 9, but rating the movie id give it an 7-8 since im more the type to wish for a happy ending with no deaths ^^
But it was overall a great movie!.
I usually prefer Japanese dubs to english, but this one the voices actually fit the characters good from my opinion!. For example an english dub i hated was fruits basket!.

Death Note Dub Quality: 7
Death note is really good for the first half!. It's got a couple cases of the "Shonen Jump Curse of the Incredibly Convenient Plot Device", but it's highly watchable and contains very little filler!. Unfortunately, in season two they introduce a couple of new antagonists which are shallow imitations at best!. They pretty much ruin the show!.
The dub is very good as dubs go!. I've seen better voice casting, but I've definitely seen worse!. At least they don't mess with the tone of the show!. Www@Enter-QA@Com

For me, it really doesn't matter!.!.!. 8/10 is my rating for both!. I like the storyplot, but honestly for me, I don't really like it!. The ideas were somewhat original, and it was a good series, but it gets way to psychological for me to follow x!.x
