Should I read Watchmen first or after the movie?!
Question: Should I read Watchmen first or after the movie!?
I'm a huge fan of comic books in general and I'm a writer!. My issue is that I have Watchmen, and have wanted to read it for quite awhile- but I am really excited about the movie and concerned I may spoil it!. The way I see it, since the film is an adaptation, it will only be a certain amount of stuff in the comic since they can't include everything!. So, if I watch the movie first, I will only have spoiler some but no the details, If I go and read the comic afterward!. What are your thoughts!?Www@Enter-QA@Com

If you are a true fan of comics, and if you are a true writer, you would READ it first, before watching the movie!. Why are you worried about the book ruining the film!? It would be ruining a classic piece of comic art if you watched the movie first!. If you know Alan Moore at all, you'd know his comics do NOT translate well into film - The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, From Hell, etc!. These are great comics, but the movies were dreadful!. Hollywood just isn't good enough!. I know I'll be flamed for this, but even the V for Vendetta film was not what we would call faithful to the graphic novel on which it was based!. (And loosely based, if I might add!.) What I'm getting at is, as optimistic as I (and many other fans) would LIKE to be about the Watchmen movie, it's unlikely that it will measure up to the high standards the comic has set!.

I say read the book first then the movie because if you watch the movie first your already going to know what happened in the book and probably not even finish the book!. but if u read the book first your really going to want to see the movie more!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
I would say read the comic first because since they couldn't put everything in the movie it'll be better if you read it first so you get the whole story!. That way you'll understand the movie better!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
