Question: Do You Think I Could Be a Manga Artist When I'm Older!? ( I'm 12 ) ( Pic of a drawing i just finished!. )
Yea, i just finished working on this!.
And people say i could be it when i'm older because right now i am only 12, turning 13 in about 2 months!.
i REALLY love anime, and manga!. So i started to draw it one year ago!.
If i progressed this far already in one year do you think when I'm older enough to work, do i have the potential to become a manga artist!?
---As you can see i'm not that great at hands, so that's one thing i DEFIANTLY am going to have to work on!. And my painting skills are not that great either u!.u

Being a manga artist is very very very difficult in America!. You won't have nearly as much popularity as Japanese artists have, that's just because of fan bias!.
BUT it's not completely impossible! Aoi House is written by two Americans, and there's many more (check out gomanga for more information)!. What you should aim for is to become a cartoonist in general!. If you're in middle school, make sure and take art classes, and when you're in high school keep doing that and take an Anatomy class too!. You are talented, and any dream doesn't come easy!.
I have a friend who got into my college's really difficult to get into Art Program, and he does anime pictures for a lot of his assignments!. In his spare time, he's also designed some of our really good anime tee shirts and club mascot designs!. His goal is to do Sunday morning cartoons, and his dream job would be to get into Disney or into a major name anime production company!. I rhink you have talent! ^_^ it′s not that easy to draw anime and besides you′re 12 by now so that′s a really good drawing for your age! Believe me! I′m 17 and just can draw "good" anime girls faces only T_T sniff sniff!.!.!.!. too sad!. Anyway, if you like drawing anime and keep on practising, I′m sure you can be whatever you like! Good luck!!

I Honestly believe That most manga artist don't make as much as the comic creators off DC or Marvel for instance!. But That is really more of a drawing style I guess!. If you want to draw that style nothing si stopping you from trying it!. I am sure if you work on it for awhile and keep your drawings in mind!. The anime picture look better than I thought! Good job!.!.!.Looks like you stenciled it!. You could work a little more on the Dog and realistic pictures!. More detail will help you, and shade!.

the neko girl is definitely very good!. yes u do have a talent! Lol u shud c my pics, theyre horrible!. you can become a manga artist, but also you have to put in mind that there IS going 2 b a lot of criticism and put-downs!. you hav like great potential and definitely a gift, so you just need 2 improve more and more (and dont 4get imagination and creativity!) and I'm positively sure that you can become a great manga artist when you 'grow up'!
and ur dog IS very good! sure u just need 2 improve on ur water coloring skills, but i can see that the sketch wasnt not great!.
and just a few tips on ur anime girl, just as a fellow passer-by-er, i thnk u shud improve on the hands and fingers, and when you ink ur picture, make the lines a bit more thicker and thinner (you did thick and thin but just a bit more) so it's not just one plain type of line that traces the whole picture!. and try to make the lines a bit more smoother!. i can see a lot of jagged lines (maybe it's my computer, but double check!)

But if you like realism, I suggest you learn to shade more, it makes everything amazing!. Have you ever been to the doctor's office and seen the drawings of horses that look like "pencil" photographs!? I think you could easily make them someday! I hope to see them at my eye doctor, with the others!.

Start by getting your drawings into contests and getting known, continue practicing and you could even start your own amateur comic book!. If possible, you could try sending it to publishing companies and hope for a reply!. However, do not discourage if you get a negative comment, it will help you build up to get better!

i'm kinda similar to you, i loveelovelove drawing & anime/manga (only i'm 14 XD) & i wanna be a manga artist!.!. but it's pretty much impossible, since being a mangaka is pretty much a japan only thing X____X;; since they serialize mangas in magazines!. in japan!. in japanese!. XD there arent many manga artists in north america!.!. & the ones that get their works published (by tokyopop or w/e) arent that popular!. =/ but don't let that bring you down! if being a manga artist is what you want to be, then no one's gonna stop you!. c:
