In the case of Superman, Clark Kent is the disguise; in the case of Batman, Bruce Wayne elects to become the Batman and spends his early life working toward that goal!. When he feels he is ready, then he adopts the Batman persona!. Basically, Batman is just a disguise Bruce Wayne wears, but Wayne's psychology is suspect and there are times it appears that the Batman persona has a life of its own!.
