I really like english dubs more than subs (japanese dubs), except for ones that are really awful!. However, I can guess why a majority of the anime fanbase hates english dubs!. Here are some reasons why:
1)Anime is a distinct art form!.
2)Because it is an art form, any alteration to the original anime is an unacceptable compromise of artistic integrity!.
3)Because dubbing into a different language compromises the artistic integrity of the anime, the only proper way to view anime is in the original unedited Japanese version with subtitles based on a literal English translation!.
4)Dubbed voices suck!. They don't sound genuine or fit the characters!.
5)The acting is lame and fake!.
6) English dubbed pronouces the Japanese names wrong!
7)English dubs alter or edit the animes!.
8) It's just not the original!.
There are plenty of other reasons as well, but here are just a few!.
But this is what I think about dub vs sub:
I really hate how people complain about English dubs!. They really don't give any REAL good reasons! They can't accept that people like other things better or that some people prefer different things over subs!. People don't consider the fact that they are being biased!. Since subs are available before dubs, the majority of the fans watch subd before the dubbed because they don't feel like waiting a couple of years for the dubs to come out!. Because they do this for a long time or for many series, it becomes a habit of watching the japanese before the dub!. Therefore, they become very use to the japanese "style/cultre" of acting, so when they hear the voices and acting of the english, it sounds fake to them, but in actuality, they are just use to the way the japanese act!. There is a big difference in the cultures of the Japanese and the Americans, therefore, the way they act, talk to each other, scream, etc!. are different!. When you get use to one way, it's hard to accept the other way as being real!. For ex: I am sooo use to the english way of screaming that when I hear the Japanese voice scream, it sounds so fake!. "That doesn't sound like how a real person would scream!."
When person hears someting first, they get use to it and when they hear something else, it sounds strange and "stupid"!. This goes with the actor's voices as well!. I might be so use to hearing the first english voices that when I hear a different english dub, I usually prefer the first dub than the second!. This applies to those who hate dubs as well, since they always watch the subs first, they like those voices better (being biased)!. Some examples of english dubbed switching companies includes Dragon Ball Z and One Piece!. For these series, I liked the english voices of the first company that dubbed it better!. Yes, including the 4kids One Piece voices!. (Keep in mind that I said the voices of One Piece 4kids and NOT the stupid script!.)
I really think Dub vs Sub is stupid because people keep on bashing and crapping on other people because they like something different!. There is no real answer of which one is better, it is just a matter of preference and opinion!. Just because someone likes something that you don't like doesn't mean you have the right to bash another person about it or bash the things they like better (such as the dub companies or the dub animes)!. People needs to stop fighting over something that is so utterly stupid and nonsense and doesn't matter!. Trust me, if dubs never existed, I would have NEVER even heard of anime! Dubs is what brought me into anime and what makes me love anime! The companies dub animes not to ruin the series, but to appeal to a wider audience!. And they did!. They give more options in what a person can watch!. Both dubs and subs, making a bigger fanbase!. I bet that the creators of anime WOULD like their animes to be dubbed into different languages because that would mean they have more fans all around the world, their creation is well known around the entire world and not just among a small fanbase, and that they probably even make more money if the anime are dubbed!. "More fans, more money!."
I would like to add that when anime were first dubbed and is stilling going on now, the dubbed edit a lot of the things which original fans liked from the series!. This annoyed fans therefore making them hate the dubs to the point that they don't watch any dub and actually miss the good ones that comes out!. Even if they do watch the good ones, they probably already have watched it in subbed therefore would be annoyed by the difference in voices (even though the voices might be considered very good among dub fans!.)Www@Enter-QA@Com

1!. The voices sound odd, not like the character and corny and don't express the emotion right!.
2!. When animes are dubbed they sometimes are watered down (like Sailor Moon) for younger people and therefore the story line is changed from good to boring!.

I like some dubs!.
But when I listen to the original japanese version FIRST I really get into the characters to voices!.
But then when I listen to dub some of the characters voices change so much, it doesnt sound right!.
