Magical girl anime working with the elements?!

I remember reading a discription of an anime where the girls contolled the elements!.!.no I am not talkin about Avatar the last Air Bender!. I think it was a magical girl anime and had some romance in it (at least that is probably how I came across it to begin with by searching for magical romance anime or something similar)
