Berserk is dark it has violence, lots of blood and gore, a little romance, and rape!. There is also S-cry-ed, Chrono Crusade,Wraith of the Ninja, Ninja Scrolls the movie, Ninja Scrolls the series, Vampire Hunter D and Vampire Hunter D: Blood Lust!. Hope these help! I also recommend Elfen Lied like everyone else says its bloody, gorey, and darkly sad!. There's also the Guinea pig series which has alot of short stories one involving a rotting mermaid, Mermaid Forest, and Pet Shop of Horror!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

netflix has a great selection, i just watch any thing as far as anime goes !. but dark, hmmm try Monster, it was a long series like 70-80 episodes!. we did not rent this series on netflix, I could not find it thereWww@Enter-QA@Com
