Stop it!. While Mangas have specific Japanese cultural elements they are also some of the best examples of traditional International cartooning and comic book art being produced in the world today!. Go back and research Tintin (belgian, 1936 on) or Eisner's the Spirit (which cartoonist Frank Miller is doing a live-action movie version of which can't possibly and doesn't seem to capture anything like the innovative uses of humor and slapstick which were a hallmark of Eisner's work)!.
It's not that Anime and Manga is unoriginal, it's that it's new and innovative in ways which we don't support -- corporately -- here in the US but it is thoroughly international in its orientation!. Anime and Manga is what cartooning should be -- and has always been at its best!. Mangas are more like the early X-Men comics than the current run!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

ha ha I sometimes get annoyed when they call manga comic books!. (different pronunciations of it can get annoying too) my mom also calls anime "cartoons" that annoys me a lot!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
