What Is The Average Height of Japanese Women?!
Question: What Is The Average Height of Japanese Women!?
I ask this because of Miss Sakaki on Azumanga Daioh!. She is known to be 174cm, or just under 5'9" , usually seen as a gentle giant!. Now, I have met quite a few Japanes women who are that tall!.!.!.and, in real life, nobody calls them giants, or even abnormally tall!. If we look at the heights given for most female Anime characters, we usually find them to be 5'3" or 5'4"!.!.!.for example, Yomi is the 2nd tallest girl in the show, yet she is only 5'4"!. Yet, she is shown as not exactly dwarfed by Sakaki!. What gives here!? Anybody got any insights!?
BTW, even themanime!.com lists Sakaki as almost 6', which would be quite tall for any woman!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

well i know the average height for women from japan is 5' 2!. it just depends country to country for height!. in japan its different!. the mens average height is 5' 7 in japan if i remember =/
well i think its just the art for the two characters are different!. i guess it was the animators chose for that
edit: thought of something to add on!. i was thinking that because sakaki is not of average height, they wanted to express the increased height because as u said the average is 5' 4 in Anime!. they wanted to show her height to be different!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
