Yes it was entirely inspired by the Civil Rights Movement:
"Personal confirmation had come for me years ago in a Wizard magazine article!.Therein it confirmed that comic book creators Stan Lee and Jack Kirby had indeed come up with the X-Men concept while following the Civil Rights and Black Power Movements of 1960s that unfolded daily on their television screens!."
The original Star Trek also was able to tackle racial issues that got past the censors at that time because they were dealing with alien races rather than humans!Www@Enter-QA@Com

Congrats on not being as "dumb" as others!. TV/Movies, sci-fi especially is an excellent medium for getting "preachy"!. X-men does indeed have a "sub class" (at least in the eyes of normal humans!.) that the humans have to decide what to do with!. Star Trek is now taught in some college classes, as each series has at least one person struggling with the concept of "humanity"!. (Spock from TOS, Data from TNG, 7of9 from Voyager, etc!.) MASH was set during the Vietnam war, but was set during the Korean conflict so as to hide a bit of what they had to say!.
If you come right out and say something, people can get offended!. The trick is to hide what you want to say in such a way that people barely even realize that you've been "preaching" to them!. Some people, obviously, never got the references or stopped to think about it!. Others however debate these concepts in college, spending many a happy time arguing over these concepts!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

No specifically, because I don't think Stan Lee was thinking in terms like that, but the X-Men definately represent the disenfranchised!. Many comics fans have made the arguement that mutants also equate to homosexuals, but I think that too is to narrow an interpretation!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
Dude I'm sorry but, That is the most retarded thing iv ever heared, no offenseWww@Enter-QA@Com
