Yes, they are recommended ratings for the books!. Most stores would avoid seling a MAX book to a small child, but even at MAX, there are rules about what can be done, so I think most people are comfortable selling them to people under 18!. The comic reading audience is a relatively liberal-minded group of people, and find that reading something is better than reading nothing, so you should be all right!.
However, if the book is actually an Adult book, and not a comic aimed at a mature audience, you'll have a hard time getting your hands on it!. A story that features nudity is fine for teenagers, but nudity that features a story is not (apparently)!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
