Question: In fullmetal alchemist how did den lose his leg!?
In Fullmetal Alchemist Winrys dog is named Den!. When she was a kid Den had all four legs but when she grew up the dog ot automail!. What happened to his leg!?Www@Enter-QA@Com

"It's not easy to see, but in the flashback episodes somewhere between 3 and 4, Den got caught when one of the brothers' attempts at Alchemy backfired (it was right after they transmuted the duckling sculpture) as they were demonstrating their prowess to Winry!.
(In the manga, the same scene happened except that there wasn't any backfire, and their mother was watching instead!. This happened in vol 6, rather than earlier on!. So manga-Den lost his leg another way, but how Den did is still a mystery!.)" -GreatChickenWww@Enter-QA@Com

We're never told for sure in the Anime, hopefully one day Ms!. Arakawa will let us know what happened to Mr!. Den!.
It is doubtful he lost his leg due to Ed and Al's alchemic attempts, as their guilt over it would have been brought up at some point!.
I think he probably got it caught in a trap, or possibly one of those bugs he loves chasing stung him good!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I do not recall what happened to Winry's pet for I have wondered also - maybe we blinked our eyes when it happened !
