They're a lesbian couple in the Japanese version, but cousins in the english dub because they probably thought kids here couldn't handle that!. This is true for all seasons!.
And, yes, the english version of SuperS is just as edited as the other versions!. Try to find the japanese version with subtitles on the internet to get the true story!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

In the dub version they're cousins for I don't know what reason!.!.!. But in the Japanese version their relationship was never clearly stated!.!.!. It's is either they're really really close friends or lesbians!.!.!. It could be like the opposite of shounen-ai where a guy likes a guy but in this case girl like girl!.!.!.
