Unlike the anime the manga is something that you read!. also the manga is the original story line!. Sometimes anime's tend to move away from the original story line!. also the manga is and black and white and no color!. also with the manga the story/plot is usually ahead of the anime
The anime is different because it is something that you watch instead of read!. In anime everything is in motion that also follows the main plot!. Anime tend to follow the manga,but sometimes can contain fillers(episodes that aren't part of the original plot/story),also with anime everything is in color and often has music that is used in the show!.

"manga" are the equivalent of English "graphic novels" (generally longer than "comic books")!.
"anime" is just the Japanese word for animation!. As imported into English, it refers to Japanese animation!. Some anime are cartoons; some cartoons are anime!.
Would you call Toy Story a cartoon!? Probably not, but it's definitely animation (though not Japanese, so it's not anime)!. And political cartoons generally aren't animated!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
