I agree that it was strange that Madara turned out to be Mizukage, but somehow it doesn't really surprise me!. Madara is fairly well known for his lust for power!. Since he didn't quite cut the mustard for the position of Hokage, it comes as no surprise to me that he went and took over some other poor defenseless village and inserted himself as their leader!. As for him lying about Itachi, I don't really think you read the chapter carefully enough!. Take a look at page 16 of the chapter!. Madara talks about how Itachi tried to ensure he wouldn't get to Sasuke by implanting Amaterasu into Sasuke!. He also says something along the lines of "So much for "I won't touch Konoha!."" It's pretty clear that Itachi really was trying to protect the village and his little brother!. Madara's just a grudging old b*****d who will refuse to stop the attack on Konoha once Sasuke has achieved his goal of killing the elders!. As I've said before in other answers, Madara is going to have to die for peace to be achieved in that village!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
