Why is Disney not releasing Doug, X-Men, Spider-Man, and many others on DVD?!

Question: Why is Disney not releasing Doug, X-Men, Spider-Man, and many others on DVD!?
Disney owns the rights to Doug, Brand Spanking New! Doug, X-Men (from the 90s), Spider-Man (90s), Silver Surfer, Dinoriders, and many, many others!.

Why aren't they releasing these!? Not expecting to get a real answer other than "because they're evil" but if anyone has any actual information as to why they aren't releasing these, please share!Www@Enter-QA@Com

My guess is because those titles when released on VHS didn't rack in enough money to urge them to release them on DVD or maybe when they released the first few volumes DVD wise they didn't rack in much money (since that seems to be the reason behind why Gargoyles suffered the fate of not completeing all its seasons on DVD - only season 1 and part 1 of season 2 are out)!. Of course the problem is its pretty stupid that Disney don't make those titles avaliable business wise since they would still rack in money and whether the money be minimium or not it could help them make more movies and rack in more money!. The problem is the wish to release DVD's when the series is still in high or mid high popularity but by time they do release most of us, customers or Disney fans, never know about them unless their Disney movies (notice how every Disney title commercial is a movie redone w/ special effects or brighter tones but never or very rarely a tv series commercial comes up)!. So technically the idea that Disney is evil is technically accurate (lol, how else are we supposed to find out about A tv series on DVD if once on a blue moon a commercial comes up for it and nearly every day a disney movie has a commercial for it)!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

It could just be in the evil Disney Vault where they lock all their movies and shows!. Then when they feel it's the right time they will release them at $20 a pop even though the darn cartoons are old!. Disney wouldn't have to worry about piracy if they just got rid of the Vault and sold their stuff normally!. I personally hate having to wait 10yrs!. or more just to watch a Disney Cartoon or one that they just happened to get their hands on!. By the way I liked old school Doug back when it was on Nick!. The Disney version was too panzy for me!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

The answer is simple
They want to protect them from Piracy more so than any other International Co!. out there!.
I Have encountered street Vendors selling Pirated Disney Movies on DVD!.

I do suspect that in time the Blu ray Disc will replace the DVD as the DVD replaced VHS Tapes but I do not Believe that is the reason!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I really thought Fox owned the X-men and Spiderman 90's cartoon distribution rights!. but your right Disney does currently owns the right to air the show!.

They have released many episodes of these two series and the Hulk on single discs best of type things many times over!. So im not sure!. These DVDS are all out print now!. So eitehr Disney no longer has distribution rights or some new sets are coming!.

I know that they have to come to an agreement with marvel!. Like they did on the Spiderman '67 series!.

Disney has the rights tied up on Batman the 60's Tv series!. The 60's film is owned by FOX!. Even though batman is on Warner Brothers they came to an agreement!. but Abc television/disney own the show and have yet to resolve the distribution rights for that TV show!.

It seems like its a rights issue, because Disney loves to pimp stuff out!. They dont mind making you buy 1 episode per disc of Little mermaid and calling it a brand new DVD adventure!. every other week!. So i assume with a Spider-man 3 or X-men 3 film they wouldve loved to released these tv series!.

And now the Hulk movie is out!. and nothing is in the works!? When the first film came out they released 1 disc of the Hulk cartoon!.

i just checked and all the Disney DVD released marvel cartoons are out of print!. Including Spiderman 67!. it could be the rights have all reverted back to Marvel!.

Marvel Animation is releasing Xmen in the UK on region 2 in 2008!. Quit possible because Disney only has or had US distribution rights!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
