Question: Do you think Itachi trusted Naruto!? *spoiler* for those who havent read the manga!?
Looking back on Chapter 403, especially the end of page 07, we see Itachi smile as Naruto proclaims, "I won't bend my words! That's what being a ninja means to me!" (concerning saving both Konoha and Sasuke)!. Itachi's smile seemed genuinely happy - I'm taking this to mean that he trusted Naruto to look after Sasuke, almost like a 'passing of the torch' as such because Itachi knew he was going to die!.
And then when he transferred some of his power into Naruto I think Itachi was giving Naruto the means to fight Sasuke equally because come on, it's pretty obvious that Sasuke's one hell of a powerful dude even with Naruto new Rasengan!. I liked one of the suggestions someone gave me in my other question about this chapter and he/she said that Itachi could have given Naruto a sharingan!.!.!.

i sort of disagree with mizu i mean yes it is obvious that itachi trusted naruto what kind of a question is that!? its friggen obvious but as for itachi wanting to end sasuke's rampage of evil i disagree itachi didn't think sasuke was evil he said that sasuke is still pure and can be tainted easily!. sasuke always tried to not kill his ooponets unless he had no choice even when he fought deidara which was his hardest battle yet until his fight with itachi!. he runs his hand right threw deidara's chest and says i missed a vital point on purpose i dont agree with anyone thinking sasuke was evil!. but yes itachi trusted naruto to deal with sasuke and gave him the power to do it!. but i believe that naruto's new rasengan would be enough to finish any shinobi if it hit but with sasuke's advanced genjutsu he would'nt be able to so maybe naruto recieved a new sharingan or one of the jutsu's like amateratsu or susanoo i dont know but im looking forward to the up coming chapters we still dont even know why itachi wanted to keep sasuke away from tobi maybe it was so he wouldn't tell him the truth maybe it waas so he wouldn't tell him a lie who knows!? we also don't know the secreat of pain and who he really is also konan is still alive and suigetsu, juugo and karrin are to!. and we still dont know whats tsunade's reaction was when she found out jiraiya was dead!. all things are extremly exciting and i can't wait for them to be revealed!. the battle is gunna be harder on naruto because he's gunna be trying to just stop sasuke and sasuke is going to be trying to "kill" him naruto will have to hold back giving sasuke the upperhandWww@Enter-QA@Com
Naruto with a sharingon!.!.!. holy crap!. That would be freakin amazing!!! Anyway I think maybe he was testing to see if Naruto has what it takes in order to protect Konoha!. I mean Itachi was willing to kill his whole clan to protect it, and I'm sure he knew what Sasuke would do when he learned the truth of why he killed the clan!. So I think he was more or less, seeing if Naruto could actually kill Sasuke to protect Konoha!. I mean it would seem like a wasted effort on Itachi's part to kill his whole clan to protect, then to have the one person he spared destroy it after he died!. yeah i definately think Itachi trusts Naruto!.!.!.i mean Naruto doesnt complicate things with decisions about whether or not he should kill sasuke or not!.!.!.!.Naruto is the Type of Hero that does what is right regardless of consequences and thats why Itachi likes him!.!.!.i mean think about it!.!.!.!.Itachi risked the peace of konoha by letting sasuke live and Naruto will risk having konoha destroyed for the sake of saving sasuke!.
As to the power itachi gave Naruto as cool as a sharingan would be i think that would be too over the top even for a naruto manga!.!.!.!.i think however as Itachi referred to it as a power he hopes Naruto would never have to use my theory would be something to do witht the Kyuubi as Uchihas had the power to control it!.!.!.!.maybe we will get to see a controlled 4 or more tailed Naruto!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

No offense but I think that you're trying to make something out of merely nothing!. Of course Itachi "trusted" in Naruto!. Itachi doesn't give away his power to just anybody!. I mean look at how long its been since Sasuke was around, and the only now Itachi gives Sasuke the rest of his power!. I think that he wants Naruto to end Sasuke's rampage of evil!. This is just my thoughts on the whole thing!. I mean he even said so himself: "How would you feel if Sasuke tried to destroy Konoha!? Would you stop him, end his life!?" I don't think he was playing around when he said that to Naruto, so it must mean that he was sincere!. Itachi wants Naruto -- the most determined ninja that he knows -- to stop Sasuke from trying to destroy Konoha, without having to kill him!. ^_^ Thats the gist, in my point of view and to my understanding!. =]Www@Enter-QA@Com
